Need Native Language Partners?
Go To Livemocha!

Livemocha is one of the best language learning resources.

I have registered there awhile ago in order to start learning a new foreign language – Spanish.

I am Russian and live not so far from Moscow -- and there is no opportunity to find native speakers of Spanish in my neighborhood.

I decided to begin learning Spanish on my own and found out that Livemocha is an ideal place to study the basics of the language and connect with language partners.

How It Works

This language learning community is very easy to use.

Registration is a quick and easy procedure. Complete it and you’ll be able to start learning your target language right away.

Spend a couple of minutes to edit your profile information and write a little about yourself. That will help you to find language partners with the same interests and goals.

There are several different courses for any target language. Each of them consists of some Units.

Pick up the right one for your level, or just start with the first course if you aim to learn a completely new language.

Each lesson is created to learn information about 1 subject. You study new material and improve language skills - reading, listening, writing and speaking – at the same time.

After you complete speaking and writing exercises, submit them for checking. There are 2 options for you – you can send finished exercises to some of your friends or choose people among native speakers that are suggested by the web site automatically.

You will get comments about work you’ve done. I was a little nervous when I submitted my first exercise. I made some mistakes, but the natives, who reviewed my exercise, explained everything to me in a very polite and friendly manner.

I found that it is very important to get benevolent comments, especially when you just start learning a new language. It’s very easy to get discouraged if comments, which points at your mistakes, embarrass you.

However, Livemocha is a friendly language learning community and works excellent for everyone who’s serious about language learning.

If I knew about it a year ago, I would have started straightway. After covering just a couple of Spanish Units, I can say, read and write some simple phrases in Spanish properly.

Well, there are a lot of things I could say about Livemocha, but the only way to find out if it works for you or not is to simply register there and just start learning a language and talk to your new friends!!
